A group practice in Amsterdam is looking for a head assistant for four days a week. You take over the day-to-day organisation of the assistant team from a colleague who is moving up to practice manager.
What you’ll be doing
You make the rota for the assistants and coordinate it with the dentists and the dental hygienists. In case of illness or absence you arrange cover, so that the schedule doesn’t shift.
You are at the chair three days a week and spend one day on organisation: orders, stock, equipment maintenance and keeping the protocols up to date.
You induct new assistants and give them feedback. Together with the practice manager you work out the processes that are not yet fixed in the growing practice.

This suits you if you enjoy building something and are not afraid of a practice where not everything is nailed down yet.
If you like clear, fixed procedures from day one, an older practice with an established way of working is a better choice.

Education and experience
At least six years’ experience as a dental assistant and experience in scheduling, ordering and inducting colleagues. You know the protocols for sterilisation, hygiene and radiography. Working in a group practice is a plus.
