A practice with three dentists in Dordrecht is looking for a dental hygienist for 24 to 32 hours, with your own room and your own schedule.
What you’ll be doing
You run your own clinic independently: routine check-ups, periodontal treatment and patient education.
A large share of your patients have periodontal problems. You do the examination, measure the pockets, draw up a treatment plan and carry out the treatment over a few appointments. Then you schedule the aftercare and check at the check-ups whether the result holds.
A prevention assistant does the simple check-ups, so you have time for the more complex treatments. You consult the three dentists about patients who need more, for example a referral or additional treatment.

It also suits you if periodontology appeals to you, because that is where the focus of your schedule lies. If you mainly want to do short check-ups and cleanings, this is less the place for you. If you like to carry out a treatment yourself from start to finish, you will find plenty of work here.

Education and experience
A BSc in Oral Hygiene. Experience with periodontal treatment is useful, because you see a lot of periodontal patients. If you have just graduated, you can use the training budget to develop further in that area.
What you bring
You explain things well, even to patients who aren’t keen to listen.
With periodontitis, a lot depends on what the patient does at home. So you keep explaining and motivating patiently, even at the third appointment. You plan your schedule so that you have the time each patient needs, and you say so when that isn’t working.
Honestly: the previous dental hygienist left after a year. Since then the practice has reduced the workload, with more time per patient.
