Orthodontic assistant.

An orthodontic practice in Utrecht is looking for an orthodontic assistant for 28 to 38 hours. Experience with braces or aligners is a plus, not a must — the practice trains you in house.
What you’ll be doing
You assist with fitting and adjusting braces and aligners, take photographic records and scans, and guide patients through their treatment. Many young patients, many short appointments back to back.
Alongside that you prepare the treatment rooms, make sure the materials are ready and keep on top of sterilisation. You are often the face a patient speaks to between check-ups: explaining how to keep a brace clean, reassuring them when something hurts, and updating the parents.

This suits you if you like pace and enjoy working with children and teenagers. If you come from general dentistry and want to specialise, this is a good move across: orthodontic experience is not required, an appetite for learning is.

Education and experience
A completed dental assistant qualification is the basis. Orthodontic experience is not required — the practice trains you in house and you shadow an experienced colleague for the first few weeks. Radiography certification is a plus.
