A practice with two dental hygienists in Nijmegen is looking for a prevention assistant for 16 to 24 hours. You take over the simple check-ups.
What you’ll be doing
You do the simple check-ups and scaling, so that the dental hygienists can focus on the periodontal treatments.
Your clinic consists of check-ups, removing tartar and stains, brushing instruction and fluoride. If you see signs of gum problems in a patient, you consult one of the dental hygienists. Together you decide whether the patient should go to them.
You work in a fixed room with your own schedule. You plan your own recall appointments and keep track of who is due. Between appointments you get your room ready and update the records.

This suits you if you want to work part-time and are looking for a permanent position.
Two or three days a week is the arrangement here. That fits well alongside a family, studies or other work. If you want to work full-time in the future, that isn’t possible here at the moment.

Education and experience
A dental assistant qualification with prevention certification. Experience with scaling and brushing instruction is useful. You work independently, but with two dental hygienists nearby whom you can ask when in doubt.

You work accurately and keep your own schedule well organised.
You know what you do and don’t do yourself, and you refer on when that is better for the patient. You calmly explain how someone can brush better, without trying to do too much at once. And you are someone the dental hygienists can rely on.
Honestly: this is a part-time job. The practice can’t offer more than 24 hours at the moment.
