A general practice in Breda is looking for a dental assistant for 28 to 36 hours. You always work with the same two dentists and spend one day a week at reception.
What you’ll be doing
You assist chairside with check-ups, fillings, crown and bridge work and the emergencies that come in between. You always work with the same two dentists, so you get to know how they work.
A normal day starts with going through the schedule with your dentist. You set up the room, lay out the instruments and materials and keep the working field dry and clear during treatment.
One day a week you are at reception: phone, schedule and the patients who walk in. You do the sterilisation together with the team. During the renovation, things in the schedule regularly shift. At reception you are the first to see it, and you help patients to a new appointment.
Who this suits
This suits you if you have a few years’ experience and value having the same colleagues. If you only want to work chairside, this is less the place for you.
It also suits you if you can live with a full schedule for a while. As long as the renovation is under way, fewer rooms are in use and the pace is higher. After that you will be working in all four rooms again.

Education and experience
A completed dental assistant qualification and at least a year of experience in a general practice. If you don’t have radiography or prevention certification yet, you can get it here with the training budget.
What you bring
You keep an overview when it gets busy and you put patients at ease. You pick up reception work without anyone having to ask.
You also cope well with an unsettled period. A closed room or an appointment that has to be moved doesn’t throw you. You speak up when something isn’t working and think along about how it could be better.
Honestly: the practice is being renovated over the coming months. One treatment room will be closed during that time and the schedule will be fuller than usual.
