A small practice in Groningen with one dentist and a dental hygienist is looking for a dental assistant for 20 to 28 hours. You do everything: chairside, reception and the ordering.
What you’ll be doing
In a team of four you are the linchpin: you assist the dentist, manage the schedule and do the ordering.
Your day alternates between chair and reception. During a treatment you are beside the dentist; afterwards you call a patient back or book a check-up. At the end of the week you check what is in stock and order what is needed.
You know the patients by name; many of them have been coming for years. That makes the work personal. You know who finds it daunting, who is always early and who needs a reminder.
Who this suits
This suits you if you work independently and like a small team.
In a small team it is noticed straight away when someone is missing. You then step in where needed, even if it isn’t your own task. If you would rather have a fixed role with clear boundaries, a larger practice will suit you better.

Education and experience
A dental assistant qualification. Experience at reception is a plus. If you don’t know reception work yet, you will learn it here on the job. In a small team you mainly learn by doing, with the dentist and your colleagues close by.

You like organising things and keeping an overview, and you never leave a phone unanswered.
You keep the schedule up to date without anyone reminding you. Working late two evenings a month is no problem for you, as long as those evenings are shared fairly across the team. And you like a practice where contact with patients is personal.
Honestly: two evenings a month the practice is open until 20.00. Those evenings rotate within the team.
