A friendly practice in Leiden is looking for a dental assistant for 28 to 38 hours. Also suitable if you are just finishing your training: induction comes with it, and there is plenty of time for it.
What you’ll be doing
You assist chairside with general treatment: check-ups, fillings, extractions and the emergencies that come in between. You prepare the rooms and keep on top of sterilisation.
Alongside that you take part in the whole running of the practice. In a small team that means reception, phone and schedule management too — you are not only found chairside. That is exactly what makes the work varied.
Who this suits
This suits you if you have just left college and want to be properly trained, or if you are ready for a small practice where you know everyone. If you want a large organisation with tightly defined tasks and a specialism of your own, this is not your place.
What the practice offers
- Salary between € 2.400 and € 3.000 gross per month on a full-time basis, plus 8% holiday allowance
- 28 to 38 hours a week, rota by agreement
- Room to learn: newcomers are properly trained, with a dedicated mentor

- Training budget, for example towards prevention or radiography certification
Education and experience
A completed or nearly completed dental assistant qualification. Experience is not required — if you get your certificate this year, you are very welcome to apply.

A willingness to get stuck in and a friendly, calm manner with patients who find it daunting. You ask when you don’t know something rather than guessing. Honestly: it is a small practice, so you cover reception and sterilisation too; no strictly separated roles, but a good atmosphere.
You are flexible when a day goes differently than planned, because in a small team you notice immediately when someone is off.
