A general practice in Arnhem is looking for a locum dentist for three days a week, for about six months. The practice owner is taking extended leave.
What you’ll be doing
You take over the schedule of the practice owner, who will be away for six months. General dentistry, with a regular assistant beside you.
The patients are used to their own dentist. You continue the treatment plans already under way and keep the records so that the practice owner can see exactly what happened on their return. If you have doubts about a plan, you consult the practice before changing anything.
You handle emergencies among the practice’s own patients; everything else runs through the regular schedule. Your assistant knows the patients and the practice, and helps you get going in the first few days.

This suits you if you are experienced and can run a practice without supervision.
It suits a locum who wants to work in one place for six months, with one fixed day and two days you fill in together. If you are looking for a permanent job or want an induction first, this locum position is not the right step.

Education and experience
A dentist with BIG registration and at least three years’ experience. As a self-employed professional you arrange your own registration and insurance. You can work without a long induction in a practice and a records system you don’t know yet.
What you bring
You work independently and keep to your agreements: patients need to know where they stand.
You keep your records as if someone else has to read them tomorrow, because that is exactly what will happen. You make agreements with the practice about the two flexible days, and you stick to them. And you treat someone else’s patients with the same care as your own.
Honestly: the Tuesday is fixed. You agree the other two days together with the practice.
